PHAV - Card FAQs

What is a PHAVcard®?

It's just like a normal check or debit card, except you get to customize it! You choose the photo or image that you want on the card. There are image guidelines of course, but as long as your image complies with those basic rules, you can create a check card that's unique to you.

How do I get a PHAVcard?

If you already have a Washington Savings Bank MasterMoney® Check Card just go to our website's design page to customize your new PHAVcard.

Card customization is easy; there are three simple instructions to follow.

1. Upload the photo you would like on your card.

2. Customize the look of your card by enlarging, cropping, or rotating.

3. Once you are satisfied with the look of your card, click the submit button.

If I already have a debit card, will my card number or my PIN number change?

Yes. Your card number will change, but you may select your old PIN. If you have payments scheduled on your existing card number, make sure to change them.

b) If you do not have a checking account with us you may open an account and check card online or in person at any branch location.

What does it cost?

Your PHAVcard is free with any checking account! It works just like a regular check/debit card, without any additional fees. You're first PhavCard is free. Subsequent orders are $9.95 each.

Can I later change my image?

Yes. Update the image on your card as often as you like. But please keep in mind your card number will change with each order and a $9.95 fee will apply.

Can my joint account holders design their own cards, too?

Absolutely. Every card associated with your account can be customized by the individual cardholder. Each custom card is only $9.95, unless it's free with a special promotional offer.

Does a PHAVcard work just like a regular MasterMoney®check or debit card?

Yes. They work exactly the same.

Can I customize my Washington Savings Bank Business MasterMoney® Check Card?

No. At this time the PHAVcard is only available for personal accounts.

How do I know if my image was approved?

Every submitted image is reviewed for compliance with the Image Guidelines. Each image also must follow the MastercardĀ® Issuing Guidelines as set by Mastercard International. Once your image is approved, you will receive an approval email and your card will be ordered. This process usually takes 2-3 business days and then it is mailed to you. You should receive your new PHAVcard in 10-12 business days.

What if the image I submit isn't accepted?

Washington Savings Bank will reject an image if it does not meet our Image Guidelines or if it is in breach of a third party's copyright.

We'll notify you by email if there's a problem with your image, and you'll have the opportunity to submit another photo. In most cases it may be as simple as selecting an image that isn't trademarked or under copyright. If we send you an email advising that your image has been rejected, simply follow the instructions provided in the email to redesign your card using a new image of your own or one from our image library. You will not be charged a fee for a rejected image.

When I receive my renewal card, will it still have my personalized image?

Yes. Upon expiration of your card, any reissued cards will have the same image as your most recently requested design. However, if you change your design within 60 days of expiration, you may receive two cards: one with the old design, and one with the new design. And it is possible you might receive the new design first followed by a card with the old design. Simply destroy the card you no longer wish to use.

How can I turn my picture into a digital photo?

To upload your picture, it must be saved as a digital image on your hard drive. Most photo processing services can scan your photo onto a disk. You can then transfer the photo from your disk to your hard drive for uploading. Remember, the image needs to be saved in either JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg), PNG, GIF, Bitmap (.bmp), or TIFF formats.

What size and format does my digital photo need to be?

Picture files can be in JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg), PNG, GIF, Bitmap (.bmp), or TIFF formats

Minimum size: The file size should be at least 50KB in size and at least 840 x 840 pixels. You cannot upload an image that is less than 840 pixels along its smallest side.

Maximum size: Image files cannot exceed 10 megabytes (MB).

Please see our Image Guidelines for full details.

Do I need special software to design my Personalized Card?

In order to process your image, you will need Flash player 6.0 (or higher). If you do not already have Flash player installed, you can download it free of charge at Adobe.com.

Can I edit my original image?
